Areximbank-Gazprombank Group extends its network of ATMs and POS-terminals
ArmInfo. Areximbank-Gazprombank Group is going to considerably extend its network of ATMs and POS-terminals. The press service of the Bank told ArmInfo that this year the number of the ATMs will be increased by 25 ATMs to 83, and the number of POS-terminals - by 100 to 300.
"The decision on extension of the network of ATMs and POS-terminals is connected with the Bank's plans on development of the card business in the country and introduction of new banking services in 2012", said Rouben Khachatryan, Deputy Director General of Areximbank-GPB Group. He expressed confidence that the service of non-cash payments will be intensively developing in the near future. "Even now the market of plastic cards of Armenia is dynamically developing amid the big competition among the banks. It is confirmed by the intensive growth of the issued cards and transactions, as well as by the introduction of new card services by the banks of Armenia", Khachatryan said.
According to ArmInfo's review "Armenian Banks in Card Business", as of the end of Q3 2011, the number of active cards of Areximbank-GPB Group totaled 25805 (32.7% y-o-y growth), and the volume of the transactions - 23.3 bln AMD (24% y-o-y growth).
To recall, Areximbank-GPB Group was founded in August 1998 to support entrepreneurship and serve financial flows between Russia and Armenia. Gazprombank (Russia) is the sole owner of Areximbank- GPB Group. At present the Bank has a total of 16 branches, 7 in Yerevan and 9 in the regions.
