SMEDNC showed aid to 50 thsd subjects of SME for 10 years of activity
Arminfo. Small and Medium Entrepreneurship Development National Centre of Armenia (SMEDNC) showed aid to more than 50 thsd subjects of SME for 10 years of activity. The total of 41 thsd businessmen were given consultation and information aid, 5 thsd - education aid and more than 1 thsd businessmen took part in the programmes on supporting businessmen-beginners, 300 of which started doing their own business, and 200 businessmen-beginners were given financial aid. Within the frames of the programme on credit guarantees for 2004-2011, 381 businessmen were given credits, - the head of SMEDNC, Varazdat Karapetyan, said when commenting on the ten year old activity of the organization headed by him.
He also added that establishment of the contact between the subjects of SME and state structures is the main achievement of SMEDNC for 10 years. "We have finally reached the situation when top leading structures of the country could draw out the machinery which shows true aid to small and medium-sized companies", - Karapetyan emphasized.
He also added that for the last years the volume of the budgetary financing of SME reduced, and as a result, the number of the beneficiary-companies reduced either. "But SMEDNC is already able to provide financing of these subjects at the expense of its own profits. Moreover, we apply for the help of international organizations, so that to increase financing of small and medium-sized companies as much as we can. At present about 80 thsd SME subjects have been actively functioning in Armenia. And we hope that 20-30% of them will get an opportunity to make use of the SMEDNC aid every year", - executive director of SMEDNC said.
For his part, Armenian Economy Minister, Tigran Davtyan, said that development of SME is always in the center of the government's attention. "For instance, within the frames of the anti-crisis events in 2008 the government attracted $50 mln from the World Bank. In 2008 the SMEDNC founded the Universal Credit Company to which the state delivered 6 bln drams", - Davtyan recalled.
