Turnover of funds in trade outlets of Areximbank-Gazprombank Group up 26% over year
ArmInfo. The turnover of the funds in trade outlets of Areximbank- Gazprombank Group has grown by 26% over year. The press service of the Bank told ArmInfo that at the end of Q1 2012 the turnover of the funds in the trade outlets of the Bank was 545.302 mln AMD (26% growth versus the same period of 2011). At the same time, the turnover of the funds in the trade outlets by the Bank's cards totaled 397.609 mln AMD (17% y-o-y growth). The turnover of the funds in the cash points of Areximbank-GPB Group amounted to 7.464 bln AMD, of which 2.208 bln AMD being the turnover of the funds for POS-terminals and 5.256 bln AMD - the turnover of the funds for the ATMs of the Bank. Over Q1 2012 the Bank issued 4815 plastic cards, 3285 of them were VISA, 981 MasterCards and 549 ArCa.
According to the source, as of 31 March 2012 the Bank had 58 ATMs, 39 cash points, 218 POS-terminals. In 2012 the Bank is going to increase the total number of ATMs to 83 and the number of POS-terminals to 300.
To note, Areximbank-GPB Group was founded in 1998 to support entrepreneurship and to serve the financial flows between Russia and Armenia. The sole owner of the Bank's shares is Gazprombank (Russia). Areximbank-GPB Group is a full member of the largest international payment system VISA and MasterCard, as well as the local payment system ArCa.
ArmInfo's analytical review "Armenian Banks in Card Business" says that Areximbank-GPB Group is among the top ten leading banks of Armenia in terms of the total number of active plastic cards (nearly 26 thsd cards as of 30 Sept 2011). About 64% of the total number of active cards falls on salary projects. The Bank is also a leader by the card transactions (over 23 bln AMD over Jan-Sept 2011, 24% y-o-y growth). The ATM transactions of the Bank totaled more than 16 bln AMD (42% y-o-y growth) as of 30 Sept 2011.
