AMD and USD loans provided by Armenian banks almost doubled last week
ArmInfo. Last week (23 to 29 April) Armenian banks provided loans worth 42.2 bln AMD (1.7% weekly growth) and $71.7 mln (1.6% weekly growth), the press service of the Central Bank of Armenia told ArmInfo.
According to the source, over the current week (2 to 4 May 2012) the banks bought $62.7 mln at the average exchange rate of 391.4 AMD/$1, and sold $67.8 mln at the average exchange rate of 392.4 AMD/$1 in the intrabank currency market (transactions with clients). Over the same period the banks bought 4.2 mln EUR at the average exchange rate of 514.76 AMD/1 EUR and 384.7 mln RUR at the average exchange rate of 13.19 AMD/1 RUR, and sold 10.3 mln EUR at the average exchange rate of 518.8 AMD/1 EUR and 41.1 mln RUR at the average exchange rate of 13.39 AMD/1 RUR.
Currency purchase and sale operations worth $3.45 mln were carried out at the average exchange rate of 392.07 AMD/$1 in the interbank currency market from 2 to 4 May.
Over the given period currency purchase and sale operations worth $3.8 mln were carried out at the average exchange rate of 392.08 AMD/$1 at NASDAQ OMX Armenia; the biggest volume was registered on 2 and 3 May ($1.550 mln and $1.4 mln respectively). No operations with EUR or RUR were registered in the stock exchange or in the interbank market.
