Financial sector still has highest wages
ArmInfo. In Jan-Apr 2012 the average salary in Armenia made up 115,193 AMD or $296, which is 5.1% more than in Jan-Apr 2011.
The National Statistical Service of Armenia reports that in budgetary organizations the wages were 92,307 AMD or $237 - 4.5% more than in Jan-Apr 2011, in non-budgetary organizations 142,700 AMD or $367 – 5.3% more.
The financial sector and the mining industry have the highest average wages - 352,896 AMD (7.7% growth) and 257,019 AMD (5.8% growth), respectively. In the field of information and communication technologies the wages were 251,174 AMD (5.8%). Cultural and public catering workers get the lowest wages in Armenia - 66,232 AMD and 78,975 AMD, respectively.
