In Apr 2012 credits of Armenian banks grew by 3%
ArmInfo. In Apr 2012 the credits of the Armenian banks grew by 3% to 1.4trl AMD or $3.557bln. As compared with Apr 2011 they grew by 30.7%, in Jan-Apr 2012 by 9.7%.
The Central Bank of Armenia reports that 67.1% of the loans or 507.3bln AMD were AMD loans, 62.9% or 859.2bln AMD foreign exchange loans. In Apr 2012 AMD loans grew by 3.3%, as compared with Apr 2011 by 25.4%, in Jan-Apr 2012 by 5.2%, foreign exchange loans grew by 3.9%, 44.3% and 11.9%, respectively.
1.4% of the loans or 19bln AMD were extended loans, 0.5% or 6.4bln AMD overdue loans.
71% of extended loans and 99.2% of overdue loans were short-term loans.
The interest rates of AMD loans grew by 0.27% in Apr 2012, 1% as compared with Apr 2011 and by 0.32% in Jan-Apr 2011 to 18.01%.
