Medical insurance segment grew almost fourfold thanks to budgetary organizations


Arminfo. The medical insurance segment has grown almost fourfold thanks to introduction of the state programme of the social package to the state employees. According to the Ranking of Insurance companies of Armenia prepared by Arminfo, for the 1Q 2012 7 insurance companies of Armenia gathered 2.4 bln drams premiums on medical insurance ($5.8 mln). Since the beginning of the year the premiums on medical insurance have grown by 61%.

The first is the insurance company "RESO" on this type of premiums - with an indicator 666.7 mln drams, which exceeds the indicator of 2011 by more than 100 times. The second is "INGO Armenia" - 519.5 mln drams, growth twofold. The third is the insurance company "Rosgosstrakh Armenia" with a volume of insurance premiums - 408.5 mln drams, growth by more than 4 times. The insurance company "Cascade Insurance" is the forth - 323.2 mln drams (growth by 71,1%). The "Garant Limens" occupied the fifth place - with an indicator 301.8 mln drams. The "RASCO" gathered the minimal volume of premiums - 27,3 mln drams.

To note, 7 insurance companies paid for medical insurance 229.2 mln drams for the 1Q 2012, which is by 21% more than in the 1Q 2011.
