In Q2 2012 consumer confidence index in Armenia dropped from 106.7% to 101.5%
ArmInfo. In Q2 2012 as compared with Q1 2012 consumer confidence index in Armenia dropped from 106.7% to 101.5%. As compared with Q2 2011 the index dropped from 101.3% to 100.4%.
Current conditions sub-index grew from 104.3% to 106.2% as compared with Q2 2011 and dropped from 103.3% to 101.6% as compared with Q1 2012, while future expectations sub-index dropped from 99.4% to 96.3% as compared with Q2 2011 and from 109.5% to 101.4% as compared with Q1 2012.
In terms of current conditions, the income sub-index grew by as much as 12.4% to 117.4%, the sub-index for ability to buy large-ticket items made up 102.9% for the year and 87.5% for the quarter, the sub-index indicating households' view of current economic conditions - 103.1% for the year and 108.6% for the quarter.
As regards future expectations, all the components of this sub-index declined as compared with Q2 2011, with only one component - employment sub-index - declining as compared with Q1 2012. The expectations of major purchases made up 64.6% for the year and 106.6% for the quarter, while the expectations of income growth declined from 100.2% to 97.3% as compared with Q2 2011 and from 124.3% to 101.4% as compared with Q1 2012.
The Central Bank of Armenia has held this survey since 2005 on the basis of methodologies developed by Conference Board (US) and IFO (Germany).
