Central Bank of Armenia issues 50 AMD commemorative coins
ArmInfo. The Central Bank of Armenia has issued brass covered 50 AMD commemorative coins dedicated to the country's 10 regions.
The press service of the CB reports that a total of 60,000 coins will be put into circulation.
The front faces of the coins picture the symbols of ten regions: Tavush fortress (Tavush), Garni Temple (Kotayk), Sevan Peninsula (Gegharkunik), Hakhpat Monastery (Lori), a phaeton (Shirak), Syunik Gates (Syunik), Hor Virap Cathedral (Ararat), a wild goat (Vayots Dzor), Byurakan Observatory (Aragatsotn), Sardarapat Complex (Armavir), Sasuntsi David Monument (Yerevan).
The designers are Edward Kurdinyan and Karapet Abrahamyan.
The coins have been made by the Mint of Finland.
