In May 2012 Armenian banks' loans totaled 1.443tr AMD


ArmInfo. June 1 2012 the loans of Armenia's banks totaled 1.443tr AMD ($3.6bln) - 3.7% more than in Apr 2012 and 32.5% more than in May 2011.

The Central Bank of Armenia reports that 36.2% of the loans or 510.2bln AMD were AMD loans, 63.8% or 900.5bln AMD foreign exchange loans.

1.8% or 26bln AMD ($64mln) were extended loans, 0.5% or 6.6bln AMD ($16.3mln) overdue loans.

77.5% of the extended loans and 99.6% of the overdue loans were short- term loans.

The interest rates of AMD loans dropped by 0.56% as compared with Apr 2012 and by 0.17% as compared with May 2011 to 18.45%.
