Over the past week AMD loans provided by Armenian banks dropped by 15.2%, and USD loans - by 41.4%


ArmInfo. Last week (15-22 July) the Armenian banks provided loans worth 30 bln AMD (15.2% weekly decline) and $36.2 mln (41.4% weekly decline), the press service of the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) told ArmInfo.

According to the source, over the current week (23-27 July 2012) the banks bought $79.3 mln at the average exchange rate of 408.88 AMD/$1, and sold $90.7 mln at the average exchange rate of 410.32 AMD/$1 in the intrabank currency market (transactions with clients).

Over the same period the banks bought 5.87 mln EUR at the average exchange rate of 495.85 AMD/1 EUR and 599.1 mln RUR at the average exchange rate of 12.42 AMD/1 RUR, and sold 21.5 mln EUR at the average exchange rate of 504.2 AMD/1 EUR and 89.6 mln RUR at the average exchange rate 12.67 AMD/1 RUR.

Currency purchase and sale operations worth $3.150 mln were carried out in the interbank currency market from 23 to 27 July.

Over the given period currency purchase and sale operations worth $18.3 mln were carried out at the average exchange rate of 408.2 AMD/$1 at NASDAQ OMX Armenia; the biggest volume was registered on 24 and 25 July ($4.85 mln and $5.65 mln respectively). No transactions were registered on the stock exchange on July 27. No operations with EUR or RUR were registered in the stock exchange or in the interbank market on July 23-27.
