Last week USD loans provided by Armenian banks grew by 71%, and AMD loans increased slightly
ArmInfo. Last week (22-29 July) Armenian banks provided loans worth 30.5 bln AMD (1% weekly growth) and $62.1 mln (71% weekly growth), the press service of the Central Bank of Armenia told ArmInfo.
According to the source, over the current week (30 July-3 August) the banks bought $87.4 mln at the average exchange rate of 407.89 AMD/$1, and sold $113.2 mln at the average exchange rate of 409.27 AMD/$1 in the intrabank currency market (transactions with clients). Over the same period the banks bought 7.2 mln EUR at the average exchange rate of 499.32 AMD/1 EUR and 778.1 mln RUR at the average exchange rate of 12.53 AMD/1 RUR, and sold 21.3 mln EUR at the average exchange rate of 506.68 AMD/1 EUR and 92.9 mln RUR at the average exchange rate 12.74 AMD/1 RUR.
Currency purchase and sale operations worth $2.4 mln were carried out in the interbank currency market from 9 to 13 January.
Over the given period currency purchase and sale operations worth $6.2 mln were carried out at the average exchange rate of 409.14 AMD/$1 at NASDAQ OMX Armenia; the biggest volume was registered on 1 August ($4.5 mln). No operations were registered on the stock exchange on July 30.
No operations with EUR or RUR were registered in the stock exchange or in the interbank market from July 30 to August 3.
