Total capital of Armenian banking system up 1.9% for Q2 2012 
ArmInfo. Over Q2 2012 the summary total capital of the Armenian banking system grew by 1.9% to 369.8 bln AMD ($884.6 mln). The authorized capital underwent no changes in Q2 - 226.1 bln AMD, or $540.86 mln. The share of foreign capital in the authorized fund was down 0.8% to 168.38 bln AMD, or 74.5% of total. 
The press service of the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) told ArmInfo that in the summary total capital, the share of accumulated profit as of 1 July 2012 made up 26% or 96.3 bln AMD (4.6% growth in Q2 2012).  The main reserves grew by 6.6% to 20 bln AMD ($47.9 mln).
The CBA says that the total liabilities of the banking system amounted to 1871.2 bln AMD as of 1 July 2012 (11.8% growth in Q2).  The summary total assets amounted to 2241 bln AMD (10% growth in Q2).
As of 1 July 2012, there were 21 banks and 461 branches in Armenia (against 444 branches as of 1 April 2012).
