74.8% of transactions in Armenian market of plastic cards fall on cash withdrawal via ATMs


ArmInfo. Cash withdrawal via ATMs constitute the biggest share of transactions (74.79%) in the Armenian market of plastic cards. Armenian Card (ArCa) told ArmInfo that the cash operations by cards via POS-terminals rank next - 15.56%. The share of noncash operations is 9.64% (most of them via POS-terminals - 7.89%).

The source says that as of 1 August 2012 there were 5559 POS-terminals within Armenian Card (34.7% y- o-y growth) and 906 ATMs (19.7% y-o-y growth). All of them accept ArCa local cards. In the meantime, 819 of the total number of ATMs also accept MasterCards, 807 - Visa cards.
