Turnover of noncash operations via Armenia's ATMs keeps on growing
ArmInfo. In July 2012 versus July 2011 the turnover of noncash operations via Armenia's ATMs grew by 33.7% to 19.2 mln AMD, Armenian Card (ArCa) told ArmInfo.
Amid the growth of noncash operations via ATMs, internet payments demonstrated considerable increase. Thus, in July 2011 the internet payments in Armenia amounted to more than 212.1 mln AMD, while in July 2012 this figure grew more than twofold to 501 mln AMD.
The source says that in July 2012 the card-to-card operations amounted to 624.7 mln AMD (61% y-o-y growth).
As of 1 August 2012, the total number of the active cards issued by the ArCa member banks was 895,000 (36.3% y-o-y growth). As of that date, there were 906 ATMs within ArCa (against 757 over the same period of 2011), and 5559 POS-terminals (34.7% y-o-y growth).
