Areximbank-Gazprombank Group opens a new head office in Yerevan
ArmInfo. Areximbank-Gazprombank Group has opened a new head office in Northern Avenue in the center of Yerevan. The official opening of the new office took place on August 31 with participation of representatives of the Government of Armenia, Central Bank of Armenia, as well as the Bank's customers and partners. The move to the new office was timed to the 14th anniversary of activities of Areximbank-GPB Group in the financial market of Armenia.
The new office is to make the communication with private and corporate customers of the Bank more comfortable and effective. The office will have two spacious teller halls for individuals and legal entities, a separate zone for cash operations, individual safe deposit boxes, high-tech equipment, which are capable to ensure a new qualitative level of service.
"Today Areximbank-GPB Group is one of the largest players in the country's financial market with a loan portfolio of over 90 bln AMD, assets of over 116 bln AMD and about 85 thsd customers. By the growth rates of the key indices, the Bank holds one of the leading positions, and by some indices it is among the largest banks of the country. This has first and foremost become possible due to the support of our shareholder - Gazprombank (Russia), one of the largest financial institutions of Eastern Europe", Armen Khandkaryan, Director General of Areximbank-GPB Group CJSC, said during the ribbon-cutting ceremony.
He added that Gazprombank's capacities are also widely used for financing of the strategic spheres of Armenia's industry, specifically, the energy sector.
For his part, Deputy Chairman of Board of Gazprombank, Chairman of the Council of Areximbank-GPB Group Nikolay Korenev pointed out the dynamic development of Areximbank since its entry to the financial market of Armenia. Gazprombank has interesting projects for further development of investment business in Armenia. The Bank is going to continue increasing the potential of work with individuals.
"I want to assure you that Gazprombank will continue actively supporting Areximbank to develop cooperation not only among the banks, but also between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Armenia in general," Korenev said.
At present Gazprombank's investments in Armenia's economy total $185 mln, of which $100 mln - in Areximbank's development and $85 mln - in ArmRusgasprom.
According to the Ranking of Armenian Banks by the Agency of Rating Marketing Information, Areximbank-Gazprombank Group is among the top ten leaders in terms of assets - over 16 bln AMD. As of 1 July 2012, the Bank's lending totaled 90.9 bln AMD (8th position), and total capital amounted to over 16 bln AMD.
The Bank was founded in 1998. Gazprombank OJSC has been the sole shareholder of the Bank's shares since 2007.
