Cash withdrawal via ATMs constitutes 73.3% of transactions in Armenian market of plastic cards


ArmInfo. Cash withdrawal via ATMs constitutes 73.32% (biggest share) of transactions in Armenian market of plastic cards. Armenian Card told ArmInfo that the cash operations with cards via POS-terminals rank next - 15.9%. The share of noncash operations in the total volume of plastic transactions is 10.78%, most part of them is served by POS-terminals (8.85%).

The source says that as of 1 September 2012 the number of POS-terminals in the Armenian Card system was 5673, which was by 34.4% higher than over the same period of 2011. As of Sept 1 2012, there were 910 ATMs (18.3% y-o-y growth), all of them accept ArCa local cards. 833 of these ATMs also accept Visa cards, and 823 - MasterCards.
