Money supply in Armenia up 2.2% to 1.2 trillion drams August 2012
ArmInfo. Money supply in Armenia was up 2.2% for August 2012 (by 26.5 bln drams) to 1.241 trillion drams ($3 bln) as of Sept 1 2012. Preliminary data of the Armenian Central Bank provided by the National Statistical Service of Armenia say that money supply grew 22% versus August 2011. In the structure of money supply, cash circulating outside the Central Bank grew 0.6% for August to 322 bln drams as of Sept 1 2012 (28.6% of total money supply). The growth versus August 2011 made up 11%.
The share of deposits in terms of the national currency (AMD) in total money supply was 26% or 322 bln drams (amid 0.3% decline for August, 22% growth versus Aug 2011), with the share of currency deposits being 45.5% or 564.2 bln drams (amid 4.7% growth for the month, 30.6% growth versus Aug 2011).
Negative external assets totaled 151.2 bln drams for late August 2012 with a 6.3% decline for August and a tangible decline from the positive to negative level versus August 2011. Internal assets grew 1.2% for August and 48.9% versus Aug 2011 to 1.392 trillion drams.
In the structure of internal assets, capital requirements to the government proved at the negative level of 30.4 billion drams (down 4.3% for August, and almost having versus August 2011).
In addition, the share of economy was 1,585 trillion drams (up 1.2% for August, 34% for versus the same period of 2011). The share of organizations was 931.7 billion drams (up 1.6% for August and 35.9% versus August 2011), the share of households was 608.2 bln drams (0.9% growth for August and 30.5% versus August 2011) and the share of non- commercial enterprises was 21.8 billion drams (down 4.8% for August and up 68.5% versus August 2011).
