In Aug 2012 credits of Armenian banks grew by 4.7%
ArmInfo. In Aug 2012 the credits of the Armenian banks grew by 4.7% to 1.550trl AMD or $3.8bln. As compared with Aug 2011 the index grew by 37%.
The Central Bank of Armenia reports that 37.7% of the loans or 567.2bln AMD were AMD loans, 62.3% or 926bln AMD foreign exchange loans. In Aug 2012 AMD loans grew by 9.9%, as compared with Aug 2011 by 30.2%, foreign exchange loans grew by 1.3% and 43%, respectively.
2% of the loans or 32.1bln AMD were extended loans, 0.8% or 12.7bln AMD overdue loans.
79.6% of extended loans and 99.2% of overdue loans were short-term loans.
The interest rates of AMD loans grew by 0.3% in Aug 2012 and dropped by 0.5% as compared with Aug 2011 to 16.89%.
