In Q3 2012 economic activity index in Armenia dropped from 108.1% to 99.4%, business climate index from 123.1% to 94.2%
ArmInfo. In Q3 2012 as compared with Q2 2012 economic activity index in Armenia dropped from 108.1% to 99.4%, as compared with Q3 2011 it rose 102.9%.
There was growing activity in all economy sectors, except construction and trade with the highest activity registered in services (110.2%) and industry (104.4%).
The press service of the Central Bank of Armenia reports that in Q3 2012 as compared with Q2 2012 business climate index dropped from 123.1% to 94.2%, as compared with Q3 2011 it rose to 108.8% due to high expectations in all sectors, except services (89.1%).
According to the CB's survey, in Q3 2012 the biggest growth in personnel was registered in industry and trade, with mostly industrial companies raising wages. In Q4 2012 26.5% of companies are going to make investments against 25.7% in Q3 2012, with their key source being bank loans.
In Q3 2012 low demand was the key obstacle to high activity in industry, construction and services. Activity in trade was curbed by unfavorable economic climate and unstable foreign exchange rate.
The survey has been held since 2005 among companies acting in industry, construction, trade and services and is based on the methodologies of Conference Board (US) and IFO (Germany).
