72.3% of transactions in Armenian market of plastic cards are cash withdrawal operations through ATMs


ArmInfo. 72.3% (lion's share) of the transactions in the Armenian market of plastic cards are cash withdrawal operations through ATMs. Cash operations with cards via POS-terminals rank next (15.72%), and the share of non-cash operations makes up 12.01%, Armenian Card told ArmInfo.

The source says that as of 1 Nov 2012, the number of POS-terminals in the Armenian Card system was 5890 (33.3% y-o-y growth), and the number of ATMs was 931 (17.8% y-o-y growth). All the ATMs accept local ArCa cards, 850 ATMs accept Visa cards, and 843 ATMs - MasterCards.
