Armenian national currency is 19 years old


ArmInfo. During Thursday's Cabinet session, Prime Minister of Armenia, Tigran Sargsyan, congratulated Armenia's bank workers on their professional holiday.

Armenia's national currency, the dram, was put into circulation in the country on November 22, 1993. Now, this day is marked in Armenia as the bank employees' day. Tigran Sargsyan said that Armenian national currency's introduction was an important point on the road to building an independent state.
