Financial sector has the highest salaries in Armenia


ArmInfo. In Jan-Oct 2012 the nominal salary in Armenia was up 5.1% to 118186 AMD ($295) as compared with Jan-Oct 2011. In October alone the index dropped by 0.2%. The National Statistical Service of Armenia told ArmInfo that in Jan-Oct 2012 versus Jan-Oct 2011 the salary in budget organizations grew by 4.4% to 94608 AMD ($233), while the salary in non-budget organizations was up 5.3% to 145499 AMD ($363). In October these indices rose by 2.8% and 4.8% to 93957 AMD and 146891 AMD respectively.

The source says that the financial sector has the highest average salaries - 283392 AMD. The following sectors rank next: information and communication (277584 AMD) and ore mining (237156 AMD). The lowest salaries are fixed in the spheres of culture, leisure and entertainment (68251 AMD).
