Customer base of Armenian banking system grows almost 21% over year
ArmInfo. By 1 Nov 2012 the customer base of the Armenian banking system numbered 1,476,496 individuals and 72,007 legal entities. The preliminary data of the Central Bank of Armenia, provided to ArmInfo by the National Statistical Service of Armenia, say that a total of 1,548,503 customers had 1,882,400 accounts in the Armenian banks (1,755,234 accounts of individuals and 127,166 accounts of legal entities).
The source says that over Oct 2012 the customer base of the Armenian banks grew by 1.3% or by 20,570 customers (20.7% y-o-y growth). The number of individuals was up 1.4% or by 20,172 customers (55% y- o-y growth), and the number of legal entities was up 0.5% or by 398 customers (4.4% y-o-y growth).
Over Oct 2012 the number of the accounts opened in Armenian banks rose by 1.3% or by 25,050 accounts (9.6% y-o-y decline); the legal entities' accounts rose in number by 0.7% or by 840 accounts (11% y- o-y decline), and the individuals' accounts rose in number by 1.4% or by 24,210 accounts (9.5% y-o-y decline).
