In 2013 Armenia's banking system will keep its growing pace
ArmInfo. In the next two years the assets of Armenia's banking system will grow by 18-22% annually, Financial Director of Ameriabank Gevorg Tarumyan told journalists on Wednesday.
He said that in 2012 the loan book of Armenia's banks grew by 20% due to economic growth.
The World Bank says that in 2012 Armenia registered 6.8% economic growth, while the country's Finance Ministry reports 7.1% growth.
According to Tarumyan, Armenia's banking system will keep its growing pace this year.
According to ArmInfo's Ranking of Commercial Banks of Armenia, in 2012 the loan book of Armenia's banks totaled 1.451tln AMD ($3.6bln), while the assets grew by 18% to 2.4tln AMD ($6bln).
