Armenian dram revaluates against US dollar 0.3% in Jan 2013 amid 5% year over year devaluation
ArmInfo. The Armenian national dram devaluated against US dollar 0.3% in Jan 2013 amid 5% year over year devaluation, the National Statistical Service reports. The exchange rate averaged 406.7AMD/US$1 in Jan 2013 versus 387.53AMD/US$1 in Jan 2012.
The source reports 2.9% growth of consumer prices in Jan 2013 versus Dec 2012. As compared to Jan 202 inflation totaled 2.6%. In January 2012 inflation totaled 3.6%, amid 1.1% devaluation of AMD against USD. In Jan 2011 inflation totaled 3.2%, with the AMD devaluating against USD 1.2%. By data of the National Statistical Service of Armenia, devaluation of AMD to USD in 2012 totaled 5.9%, in Dec alone - 0.3% amid 3.2% inflation in 2012 (2.1% in Dec).
