Central Bank of Armenia suspends activities of two branches of Ameriabank and VTB Bank (Armenia)
ArmInfo. The Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) has registered termination of operations of the Center branch of Ameriabank and temporary suspension of the Myasnikyan branch of VTB Bank (Armenia) for renovation reasons. The CBA press service told ArmInfo that the decision on Ameriabank's branch was taken by the CBA chairman on Feb 25 and the decision on the branch of VTB Bank (Armenia) - on Feb 28. According to the CBA's decision, the Myasnikyan branch will be re-launched before May 15 2013.   
According to the Analysis and Financial Rating of the Armenian Banks prepared by the Agency of Rating Marketing Information (ArmInfo), as of 1 Jan 2013 Ameriabank had 9 branches, 5 of them in Yerevan, 3 in the regions and 1 in Karabakh. The VTB Bank (Armenia) has the largest branch network - 69 branches (including 2 mini branches), 25 of them in Yerevan and 44 in the regions.
