Armenia's gross international reserves dropped by 7% to $1799.4 mln in 2012
ArmInfo. Armenia's gross international reserves dropped by 7% to $1799.377 mln in 2012, the press service of the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) told ArmInfo. Nevertheless, in Q4 2012 this index grew by 3.5%.
In the structure of the gross foreign assets, international reserves dropped from $1932.476 mln to $1799.376 mln. The amount of SDR in the IMF fell from $57.033 mln (37.148 mln SDR) to $31.725 mln (20.642 mln SDR) in 2012. Over Q4 alone the SDR in the IMF grew almost 5-fold after dropping 9-fold in Q3.
In 2012 the net foreign assets declined by 9.3% to $1067.737 mln, which is by 6% more than in Q3.
To note, the share of banking gold in the gross international reserves was zeroed in December 2003.
According to the archive data of ArmInfo, in 2008-2012 the gross international reserves rose by 28%, in 2008 the decline was 15.2%, followed by 42.4% growth in 2009 due to the support of the international financial organizations. In 2010 the index dropped by 10%, and in 2011 grew by 3.6%.
