Dram deposits of Armenian banks up 23.2% over year, with foreign exchange deposits growing 26.3%
ArmInfo. Deposits raised by Armenians banks grew 2% for Feb 2013 and 25.3% versus Feb 2012 to 1267.3 bln drams as of march 1 2013.
The share of deposits in Armenian dram is total was 30.4% or 384.8 billion drams). This indicator grew 4.6% for Feb 2013 and 23.2%versus the same period of 2012. The share of deposits in foreign exchange in total was 69.6% or 882.6 billion drams. This indicator grew 0.5% and 26.3%, respectively.
By preliminary data of the Armenian Central Bank provided to ArmInfo by the National Statistical Service of Armenia, the share of deposits of non-residents was 21.8% or 276.1 billion drams (6% decline for Feb and 18.6% versus Feb 2012). The share of dram deposits in total deposits of non-residents grew 4% to 18.7 bln drams (25.5%) . The share of foreign exchange deposits in total fell 6.6% (amid 18.2% growth versus Feb 2012) and totaled 257.4 billion AMD.
Deposits of residents made up 78.2% of total or 991.2 billion drams (4.1% growth for Feb 2013 and 27.4% growth versus Feb 2012), including 366 billion drams deposits in terms of Armenian dram (up 4.7% for Feb 2013 and 53% versus Feb 2012). Deposits of residents in foreign exchange totaled 625.1 billion drams (up 3.8% for Feb 2013 and 29.9% versus Feb 2012).
The share of call liabilities in deposits of residents was 31.3% or 310.2 billion drams (up 6.6% for Feb and 13% versus Feb 2012), the share of time deposits was 68.7% or 681 billion drams (up3% for Feb 2013 and 35.1% versus Feb 2012). The balance of population deposits as of March 1 2013 totaled 667.5 billion drams growing by 3.1% for Feb 2013 and by 34.3% versus Feb 2012.
The interest rates of deposits in terms of Armenian dram were up 0.35 points to 10.33%, with a 0.85 points growth versus Feb 2012. (The exchange rate for Feb 28 2013 totaled 409.22 AMD/1USD).
