AMD deposits in Armenian banks up 16%, foreign exchange deposits up 13% in Q1 2013
ArmInfo. In Q1 2013 bank deposits in Armenia grew by 11.3% to 1.349 bln AMD by 1 April 2013. In March alone the index grew by 6.5%.
28.4% of all deposits or 383.5bln AMD were AMD deposits - 16% growth in Q1 2013 and 0.3% decline in March 2013. 71.6% or 965bln AMD were foreign exchange deposits - 13% growth in Q1 2013 and 9.3% growth in March alone. 
According to the preliminary data of the Central Bank of Armenia, 25.5% of all deposits or 345.2bln AMD were non-resident deposits (31.5% growth in Q1 2013 and 25% growth in March 2013). 74.4% or 1.004tln AMD were resident deposits (5.7% growth and 1.3% growth, respectively).
31.3% of resident deposits or 294.6 bln AMD were call deposits, 70.6% or 709.1bln AMD time deposits.
In Q1 2013 AMD deposit rates grew by 0.07% to 9.99%. In March 2013 they rose by 0.34%.
