Ameriabank considerably increases leasing operations due to business universalization
ArmInfo. Within the frames of business universalization, Ameriabank has increased the number of its leasing operations 2.5-fold over year. Over Jan-Sept 2013 the number of leasing operations reached 40 (versus 15 over Jan-Sept 2012), Tigran Jrbashyan, Ameriabank's Development Director, said at today's press conference when replying to ArmInfo's question.
In the meantime, the total portfolio of leasing operations of Ameriabank dropped by 10% to $7 million by 1 October 2013. "Though the total amount of the transactions experienced some decline, nevertheless, the portfolio has become much more diversified, and the product itself is in big demand among the local entrepreneurs", Jrbashyan said. He added that in 2012 the leasing portfolio of the Bank included mostly large transactions. This year the Bank has expanded its leasing customer base at the expense of small and medium-sized enterprises. At the moment the Bank is implementing a leasing project with several car traders of Armenia.
