Money base of Armenia down 0.5% in Oct 2013
ArmInfo. In Oct 2013 the money base of Armenia dropped by 0.5% to 719.1 bln AMD by 1 November 2013. According to the preliminary data of the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA), provided to ArmInfo by the National Statistical Service of Armenia, the money base rose by 12% as compared with the same period of 2012.
In the structure of the money base the cash funds outside the CBA totaled 408.6 bln AMD (56.8% of the money base), having undergone no considerable changes.
The share of AMD required reserves in the total money base made up 26.8% or 178.5 bln AMD (down 2% in Oct 2013, up 4.8% as compared with Oct 2012). The share of foreign exchange required reserves made up 18% or 129 bln AMD (0.5% rise in Oct 2013, more than twofold growth as compared with Oct 2012).
The source says that as of 1 Nov 2013 external reserves (excluding privatization funds) amounted to 493.1 bln AMD (27.4% decline in Oct 2013, 49.6% decline as compared with Oct 2012).
Internal assets grew more than 5-fold in Oct 2013 and dropped by 12.6% as compared with Oct 2012, having totaled 226 bln AMD.
As of 31 October 2013, the AMD/USD exchange rate was 405.3 AMD/$1.
