Central Bank: In 2014 exports in Armenia will grow quicker than imports
ArmInfo. In 2014 exports in Armenia will grow more quickly than imports, says the Central Bank's program for Q4 2013.
It specifies that exports next year will grow by 9-11%, against 3-5% growth in imports.
Amid slowing recovering global economy, reviving domestic economy and more intensive fiscal policy, in 2014 the ratio between the current account and the GDP will be the same as in 2013. By the end of 2013 the current account deficit will make up 7-8% against forecast 11.3%. Exports and imports will grow by 7-9% and 0-1%, respectively.
According to the National Statistical Service of Armenia, in Jan-Oct 2013 the country's foreign trade totaled $4.76bln (4.5% more than in Jan-Oct 2012). Exports made up $1.215bln (8.7% growth), imports $3.54bln (3.2% growth). The trade deficit made up $2.32bln (0.5% growth).
