Money base of Armenia up 4% in Nov 2013
ArmInfo. In Nov 2013 the money base of Armenia rose by 4% to 746.4 bln AMD by 1 December 2013.
According to the preliminary data of the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA), provided to ArmInfo by the National Statistical Service of Armenia, the money base rose by 20% as compared with the same period of 2012.
In the structure of the money base the cash funds outside the CBA totaled 406 bln AMD (54.4% of the money base), having undergone no considerable changes.
The share of AMD required reserves in the total money base made up 24.4% or 182.5 bln AMD (up 2% in Nov 2013, up 12% as compared with Nov 2012). The share of foreign exchange required reserves made up 20.7% or 129 bln AMD (20% rise in Nov 2013, more than threefold growth as compared with Nov 2012).
The source says that as of 1 Dec 2013 external reserves (excluding privatization funds) amounted to 525.8 bln AMD (6.6% growth in Nov 2013, 39.3% growth as compared with Nov 2012).
Internal assets dropped by 2.4% in Nov 2013 and by 10% as compared with Nov 2012, having totaled 220.6 bln AMD.
As of 29 November 2013, the AMD/USD exchange rate was 403.91 AMD/$1.
