Real effective exchange rate of AMD against foreign currencies rose by 1.4% in Q4 2013
ArmInfo. In Q4 2013 the real effective exchange rate of AMD against foreign currencies rose by 1.4% to 128.7 in December 2013. The Central Bank of Armenia (CBA) reports that as compared with Dec 2012, the real effective AMD exchange rate dropped by 5%. To recall, in 2013 the AMD devaluation against foreign currencies was registered from Feb through May, as well as in September-October. The other months saw revaluation.
In Q4 2013 the nominal effective exchange rate of AMD against foreign currencies rose by 0.3% to 218.6 in December. As compared with Dec 2012, this index grew by 6.2%. To note, in 2013 the nominal effective exchange rate dropped from January through April, as well as in September and October.
