Deposits in Armenian banks down 0.1% in Feb 2014
ArmInfo. In Feb 2014 the deposits in Armenian banks were down 0.1% to 1.552 trillion AMD (up 22.4% versus Feb 2013).
The National Statistical Service of Armenia reports that by late Feb 2014 the share of AMD deposits was 30.4% or 472.4 billion AMD (down 0.5% in Feb 2014, up 22.8% versus Feb 2013). The share of foreign exchange deposits was 69.6% or 1.079 trillion AMD (up 0.1% in Feb 2014, up 22.3% versus Feb 2013).
The deposits of non-residents made up 25.1% or 389.8 bln AMD (down 5.4% in Feb 2014, up 41.2% versus Feb 2013). The deposits of residents made up 74.9% or 1.162 trillion AMD (up 1.9% in Feb 2014, up 17.2% versus Feb 2013).
In the structure of residents' deposits, the share of call deposits made up 28.4% or 329.8 bln AMD (down 0.7% in Feb 2014, up 6.3% versus Feb 2013), and the share of time deposits made up 71.6% or 831.9 bln AMD (up 3% in Feb 2014, up 22.2% versus Feb 2013).
The population's deposits in the Armenian banks amounted to 806.8 bln AMD (up 2% in Feb 2014, up 20.9% versus Feb 2013).
The interest rates of AMD deposits made up 9.82% in Feb 2014 (down 0.46% versus Jan 2014, down 0.51 pct points versus Feb 2013).
As of 28 Feb 2014 the average AMD/USD exchange rate made up 413.15 AMD/1 USD.
