Gold reserves of Armenia's Government Treasury replenished with 7.6kg in 2013
ArmInfo. In 2013 the Government Treasury of Precious Metals and Stones of Armenia was replenished with 7.764 kg gold items and 3.949 kg silver item. Finance Minister of Armenia David Sargsyan made such statement reporting for the activities for 2013 in the Government, Thursday.
He said the Treasury reserves were replenished with 2.619 kg of platinum and 23 g of palladium due to a range on transactions on precious metals and stones.
As of Jan 1 2014, the precious metals, stones and items amount to 1.450 bln drams in total, including 224.6 mln drams gold reserves, 5 mln drams silver, nearly 50 mln drams platinum. (Central Bank's exchange rate for 10 April 2014 was 415.28 drams/1 US dollar).
Earlier on 29 January, David Sargsyan said the government treasures amount to 1.860 bln drams and the Government has no intention to sell them so far.
He said gold reserves in the Treasury total 89.392 kg, including a 14.288kg bank gold bar. The remaining is scrap gold. The minister said there are also non-precious stones, including 102 kg of faux pearls and others.
