In Q1 2014 consumer lending in Armenia grew by 6.6%
ArmInfo. In Q1 2014 consumer lending in Armenia grew by 6.6% to 410bln AMD. As compared with Q1 2013 the index grew by 23.7%.
The share of consumer loans in all loans issued by banks and credit companies made up 20.3% against 19.6% in Q4 2013 and 18.5% in Q1 2013.
According to the Central Bank of Armenia, almost 95.3% of consumer loans were issued by banks, 4.7% by credit companies.
About 35.8% of consumer loans were card loans (140bln AMD, 8.9% more than in Q4 2013 and 37.4% more than in Q1 2013).
Some 8.2% of consumer loans were loans issued for the purchase of domestic appliances and computers (32.2bln AMD, 6.9% more than in Q4 2013 and 60.2% more than in Q1 2013), 5% were auto loans (18.59bln AMD, 0.2% ore than in Q4 2013 and 15.3% more than in Q1 2013).
