In Q1 2014 Armenian banks' deposits grew by 2.2%
ArmInfo. In Q1 2014 bank deposits in Armenia grew by 2.2% to 1.648tln AMD. As compared with Q1 2013 the index grew by 22.2%.
According to the Central Bank of Armenia, the share of AMD deposits dropped by 0.3% in Q1 2014 and by 25.5% as compared with Q1 2013 to 29.2% or 481.4bln AMD, the share of foreign exchange deposits grew by 3% and 20.8%, respectively, to 70.8% or 1.116tln AMD.
The share of nonresident deposits dropped by 2.2% in Q1 2014 and grew by 31.4% as compared with Q1 2013 to 27.5% or 453.4bln AMD, the share of resident deposits grew by 4% and 19%, respectively, to 72.5% or 1.194tln AMD.
The share of call deposits in resident deposit grew by 2.4% in Q1 2014 and by 18.9% as compared with Q1 2013 to 29.3% or 350.3bln AMD, while the share of time deposits grew by 4.6% and 19%, respectively, to 70.7^ or 844.2bln AMD.
In Mar 2014 the interest rates of AMD deposits made up 6.87% (3.5% less than in Dec 2013 and 3.12% less than in Mar 2013).
