World Bank's investments in the construction sector of Armenia in Jan-Apr 2015 made 2.1 bln AMD (4.3 mln USD) or 29,3% of total international loans provided to the construction sector of Armenia for the period under review - 7 bln AMD (14.7 mln USD). WB's investments in the sector grew 2.1-fold yoy.
In Jan-Apr 2015 European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) provided 889.6 million AMD loans (1.9 mln USD with 31.6% y-o-y fall) or 12,9% of total international loans. Asian Development Bank invested 3.1 bln AMD (6.5 mln USD) in capital construction in Armenia with 20,2%. yoy fall. KfW provided 29.4 mln AMD (61.7 thsd USD) loans with a 48.7% yoy fall. By data of the Armenian National Statistical Service, capital investments in construction sector for the first four months of 2015 totaled 66.2 bln AMD (more than 139 mln USD), with a 0.5% yoy growth. The construction and assembly accounted for 57.1 bln AMD of total capital construction (a 1.8% yoy growth).
By data of the Armenian National Statistical Service, in Jan-Apr 2015 the state budget invested 10.3 bln AMD (21.6 mln USD with a 26,5% yoy growth) in construction sector or 15,5% of total capital construction costs. The population spent 16.1 bln AMD (33.7 mln USD with a 0.8% yoy fall) or 24,3% of total investments in the field. "Hayastan" All Armenian Fund provided 128.8 mln AMD or 0,2% of total investments. The organizations have provided 30.9 mln AMD (64.9 mln USD) with a 6.5% yoy fall or 46,7% of total investments in the sector in Armenia.
In Jan-Apr 2015 developer companies provided 18.8 bln AMD (39.5 mln USD) or 28,4% of total investments in the sector in Armenia, transport sector - 6.3 bln AMD ($13.2 mln, 9,5%), energy and gas supply sector provided over 5.7 bln AMD ($11.9 mln, 8,5%), mining industry - 3.4 bln drams ($7.2 mln, 5,2%), education industry - 3.8 bln AMD ($7.9 mln Ё«Ё5.7%). The financial sector provided 250.5 mln drams ($525,7 thsd, 0,4%). Water supply sector - 5 bln drams (7.5%), healthcare sector - more than 1 bln drams, culture sector - 1.2 bln drams, and agricultural sector - 887 mln drams.
The average market exchange rate of USD/AMD for Jan-Apr 2015 was 476,46 drams/US$1, and 474,07 AMD/1 USD for Apr alone. :35.4pt'>To recall, the EBRD has been active in Armenia since 1993 and to date has invested over EUR900 million in 135 projects. In 2014, the EBRD signed 18 projects worth a total of EUR114 million in Armenia. At the yearend of 2014, the total current portfolio in Armenia amounted to USD350 million. Armenia's energy output is approximately 2.6 times as high as the average indicator in the EU. 50% of the total energy consumption in Armenia is ensured due to the natural gas imported from abroad. The recent survey conducted by the World Bank has demonstrated that the investments in energy efficiency enhancement could enable Armenia to save energy constituting almost 5% of Armenia's GDP. The priority segments are water supply, water disposal and solid waste disposal.
