In Jan-May 2015 prices for non-foods grew in Armenia by 4.7% (amid 5.4% annual growth). The
National Statistical Service of Armenia told ArmInfo that prices of non-foods increased by 0.11% in May alone (amid 3.9% annual rising costs).
Prices for non-foods have mainly increased because of price growth for medications - 0.7%; personal care products - 0.6%, textile, construction materials and jewellery- 0.2% each; shoes - 3.8%.
There has been cheapening in respect of art works - 4.6%; clothing and knitwear - 1%; household appliances - 0.9%; cosmetics - 0.8%; fuel, carpets and kitchen requisite - 0.2% each. There have been no changes regarding office materials.
In May 2015 fuel and gasoline prices decreased by 0.1% and 2.9% respectively (amid annual decrease by 10,5% and 10,8% respectively); in Jan-May the prices fell by 9.4% and 11.9% respectively. Out of 11
surveyed Armenian cities non-foods prices increased by 0.1-1.4% in 6 cities and in 4 other decreased by 0,5-0,1%. The prices have remained unchanged in Yerevan.
To note, in May 2015 0.5% deflation was registered in Armenia's consumer market against 5.1% y-o-y inflation. In Jan-May there was 1.4% inflation against 5% y-o-y inflation.
