ArmInfo. As a result of inspections at the enterprises owned by an oligarch, member of Armenia's National Assembly Gagik Tsarukyan, the Ministry of Finance has not detected serious violations, Gagik Khachatryan, Armenian Minister of Finance, told journalists on November 2.
He noted that the inspection is already over at 6 enterprises, and one enterprise is still undergoing an inspection. "We have not registered any abusive activity on an especially large scale at 6 enterprises. To note, representatives from other state institutions, as well as Gagik Tsarukyan's representatives also attended the inspections. Currently Ararat Cement Factory is undergoing an inspection", Khachatryan noted, adding that the process was launched for checking the unverified information about abusing activities. "We have been instructed to verify the information, but we have not registered any violations. We have conducted the inspections within the terms of Law", the Minister noted.
Earlier, at the meeting in Armenian Parliament, opposition MP Nikol Pashinyan recalled the accusations Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan made against businessman-parliamentarian Gagik Tsarukyan several months ago during the session of the Executive Body of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) and demanded from the Armenian government to verify these accusations. Pashinyan, in particular, recalled that the President accused Tsarukyan of financial fraud and tax evasion, and instructed the authorized bodies to tackle these issues. Pashinyan said that the time envisaged by the current legislation for conducting financial inspection at Tsarukyan's enterprises has already expired but the authorized bodies have not made any statements so far.
