ArmInfo. Distillates of Vedi-Alco and Proshyan Brandy Company are not in line with the standard and the spirits contained in them are not of grape origin, ProfiBeer informs, citing The Federal Service for Alcohol Market Regulation (Rosalkogolregulirovanie), which pointed at the existence on Russian market of counterfeits of brandy distillates.
As the statement of the Federal Service for Alcohol Market Regulation says, during the control events in 2015 counterfeit brandy distillates both of Russian and foreign production have been revealed.
According to Armenia's Ministry of Agriculture data, the grape yield in Armenia made up 301 thousand tons as of 22 October, versus 261 thousand tons last year. At the same time the amount of purchased grape made up 209 thousand tons, versus 184 thousand tons for all the 2014. Export of grape totaled 11 thousand tons versus 5200 tons a year before. Non-significant amount of purchase of grape resulted in dissatisfaction of MPs, as well as farmers, who multiple times blocked the streets as a sign of protest. The reason is that 49 processing plants of the country had certain problems related to lack of financial funds.
Armenia's president Serzh Sargsyan instructed Ministry of Agriculture on September 19 to ensure purchase of the whole fruit and berry yield by the processing plants timely and to the last kg. According to the experts, as some producers were not able to purchase and process grape they exported spirits of non-grape origin to Russia. These issues have been raised in the government for many times, but the decision to them has not been found yet.
