ArmInfo. Monetary base in Armenia was down 4.8% for January-November 2015 and totaled 884.1 bln AMD by 1 December 2015. According to the National statistical service of Armenia the decline of the indicator in 11 months was determined by the cash circulating outside the Central Bank falling 7.9% to 379.9 bln AMD (45% in monetary base) and declining of dram reserves by 7.8% to 308.6 bln AMD (36.5%). At the same time the foreign exchange reserves increased by 12.4% to 152.8 billion drams (18%).
Monetary base of Armenia grew 15.9% year over year, which was determined by sharp increase of dram reserves by 63.5%, as well as growth of foreign exchange reserves by 21.9%, amid fall of cash
circulating outside the Central Bank by 6.9%.
The monetary base growth in November totaled 1.2% including cash circulating outside the Central Bank grew by 0.9%, dram reserves by 3.7%, amid fall of foreign exchange reserves by 2.4%.
The external reserves in the structure of monetary base totaled 406.3 bln AMD growing by 3.4% for 11 months (amid year over year decline by 0.3% and in November alone by 2.6%). Internal assets totaled 437.8 billion drams, having declined by 11.4% for Jan-Nov (amid year-over year growth by 36.6% and in November alone by 5%).
In the structure of internal assets, liabilities to government were fixed at negative 95 bln AMD, having grown by 6.9% for the 11 months and by 19% year over year, with going deeper in minus by 4.6% in
November. The liabilities to the banks decreased by 27.2% in 11 months and totaled 227.6 bln AMD(amid 36.3% year over year growth and in November alone by 12.8%). In the structure of liabilities to the banks, REPO transactions declined by 32.2% in 11 months and totaled 123.8 bln AMD (amid year over year growth by 64.7% and by 20.9% in November alone).
