ArmInfo. Newly appointed Minister of Economy of Armenia Artsvik Minasyan outlined four tasks, from which he aims to start his work on the new position.
First he intends to draw up a strategy of economic reforms. "In the agreement signed yesterday between ARFD and RPA the vector of economic reforms is clearly outlined which are also enclosed in the new Constitution. This refers to building of a social economy", Minasyan mentioned. According to him programs of economic policy approved earlier will be continued and new projects will be implemented as well as a package of fundamental and structural economic reforms will be developed.
Clarification of the Ministry's functions and taking responsibility for their conduct will be the second task, and the third task is to visit the economic entities, aimed at bringing to light problems of business and solving them. The fourth task is to develop new approaches to the investment policy including attracting large investments, meetings and discussions of business- plans with the investors, neutralizing factors impeding attracting of investments.
To recall, on February 24 Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan signed a number of decrees. By presidential decree Armen Yeritsyan has been released from position of Minister of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations and has been appointed Minister of Emergency Situations. David Lokyan has been appointed Minister of Territorial Administration and Development. To add, earlier by presidential decree the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations was reorganized into two structures - the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Development and the Ministry of Emergency Situations. By presidential decree Karen Chshmaritian has been dismissed from the position of Economy Minister and Artsvik Minasyan was appointed as the Head of the Economy Ministry. Besides,
Levon Mkrtchyan has been appointed Minister of Education and Science. Earlier Armen Ashotyan held the position. To recall, Republican Party of Armenia and ARF Dashnaktsutyun signed an agreement on political cooperation today.
