ArmInfo. In Q1 2016 versus Q1 2015, cargo transportation in Armenia grew by 62.9% to 3 164.9 thsd tons, from which 2091.5 thsd tons (66.1% from the total volume) was transportation by road, the National Statistical Service of Armenia reports.
Over the period under review, cargo transportation by rail rose by 23.4% to 603.3 thsd tons and those by air grew by 58.8% to 2.7thsd tons. 467.4 thsd gas was supplied by gas pipeline, which is by 13% less than the indicator of the previous year. The cargo turnover
dropped by 3.9% to 1017.4 mln tons/km.
In the period under review, passenger operations declined by 1.2% to 50178.5 thsd people. Passenger operations by rail grew by 1.1% to 73.8 thsd people, those by car fell by 1.4% to 44936.5 thsd people, and those by air were up 9.7% to 388.4 thsd people. Passenger
turnover grew 1.9% to 613.1 mln passengers.
