In June inflation on non-food products market in Armenia totaled 0.1% amid 2.8% y-o-y deflation

ArmInfo. In June inflation on non-food products market in Armenia totaled 0.1% amid 2.8% y-o-y deflation, in the first half of 2016 deflation totaled 2.1% (amid 1.5% y-o-y deflation).

The National Statistical Service of Armenia has told ArmInfo that growth of prices on non-foods in June was determined mainly by growth of prices on gardening items - 0.7%, carpets - 0.6%, kitchen appliances-0.5%, furniture-0.4%, medicines - 0.2%, cosmetics - 0.1%, and construction materials - 0.1%. At the same time clothing and 
knitted items, shoes, household chemicals, fuel, household equipment, jewelry, office supplies and sanitary products fell in prices by 0.1-1.7%.

According to the statistical data, in June petrol grew in price by 2%, amid falling price on diesel by 5.4%.  In year-over-year terms (compared to June 2015) petrol and diesel fuel fell in price by 9.9% and 22.1% respectively, while in the first half of 2016 they fell in price by 9.3% and 22.1% respectively. 

In 6 towns of the country non-foods grew in prices by 0.1-0.5% in June and in 5 towns they fell in prices by 0.4-0.1%. In the capital the prices on non-food products grew by 0.2% during the period under review.  

To note, 0.5% deflation was registered on the consumer market of Armenia in June (1.1% y-o-y deflation), and in the first half of 2016 deflation was 1% (amid 1.5% y-o-y deflation).
