Dmitry Pankin: EDB experts highly assess indicators of economic growth in Armenia

ArmInfo. On November 11,  the 11th International conference organized by EDB took place in  Moscow. The participants of the events discussed timely issues  related to Eurasian economic integration and structural reforms of  the region's economy. Answering to journalists' questions Chairman of  the Management Board of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) Dmitry  Pankin positively assessed economic situation in Armenia and the  growth of indicators.

According to him the bank's experts forecast 2% GDP growth in  Armenia, which is not bad although slightly less than previously  forecasted 2.6%. In current complex conditions this is quite  encouraging and reaching such results can not be underestimated, the  specialists of the bank consider.

Drop of fuel prices as well as raw materials have impact on the  country's economy. The situation in Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan  is much worse, the growth of economy slackened and even negative  indicators may be registered, that is why forecasted 2% growth for  Armenia is positive. According to the country's budget the GDP growth  will be 2.2%. According to the latest forecast by WB and IMF the  growth will total 1.9%. EBRD and Fitch experts forecast around 2%  growth and Armenia's Central Bank forecasted 1.5- 2.6% growth.
