Head of UMBA: Armenian economy needs serious treatment

ArmInfo. Armenia's economy  needs serious treatment, Arsen Ghazaryan, Head of the Union of  Manufacturers and Businessmen of Armenia (UMBA), told reporters on  November 17. 

He said everybody acknowledges the presence of serious problems in  the country's economy. "Jointly with the state structures, it is  necessary within the upcoming six months to solve the problems, which  hinder sustainable development of the country's economy", the Head of  the Union stated. He stressed that the proposals on improving the  situation have been presented to the government. Many of them were  included in the governmental program. Arsen Ghazaryan stressed that  the proposals relate not only to the legislation, particularly the  Tax Code, but also practical application of normative acts. The main  goal of the initiatives presented by the Union is creation of healthy  competitive environment.  According to Ghazaryan it is also important  to set connection between the ministry and professional unions in  order to define those mechanisms of cooperation, which will be aimed  at improvement of investment climate and activation of  entrepreneurship.
