Railway infrastructure in Armenia improved

ArmInfo. South Caucasus  Railway (SCR) CEO Sergey Valko has summed up the results of the  autumn inspection of the railway infrastructure and track facilities.  

Such inspections are conducted at the SCR on an annual basis - to  appraise the condition of the track facilities, infrastructure, as  well as to work out measures to liquidate the flaws, ensure railway  safety, etc.   

According to the inspection findings, the condition of the railway  infrastructure has been improved due to the SCR modernization  measures. Since early 2016 the railroaders have replaced over 35.8  thsd sleepers and overhauled 11.7km of tracks.     

The inspection at the South Caucasus Railway has been conducted since  November 16. It will allow monitoring the course of liquidation of  the shortcomings.    

SCR CJSC is the 100% subsidiary of Russian Railways OJSC and the  concessional manager of Armenian Railways under the 13 Feb 2008  agreement, which was signed for 30 years but can be extended for 10  more years.
